What Is A Doula & What Do They Do?

A doula is someone (me!) that is trained to provide continuous physical, emotional, and informational support. I have extensive education, knowledge, and experience to help you through this unknown territory that is labor and delivery. I can provide suggestions, help with relaxation, massage, positions, and other techniques to help you through the process.

Studies have shown that by having a doula helps reduce:

  • C/Section rates

  • Instrumental vaginal births

  • Use of analgesic (i.e. epidural, IV pain medications)

The same studies have shown a higher rate in:

  • Spontaneous vaginal births

  • Shorter duration of labors

  • An overall positive experience with childbirth
